With the XM SkyDock you can enjoy Satellite Radio anywhere you drive using your Apple iPhone or iPod Touch. Designed for easy use through your existing vehicle audio system, the SkyDocks built-in XM tuner is controlled with your iPhone or iPod Touch using a free App available through the Apple Store. The application will allow you to control the XM tuner using the iPod Touch or iPhones touch screen interface. The dock will also charge your device while listening to live Satellite Radio.

Listeners using the SkyDock will have the ability to tag songs they hear for later purchase from the iTunes Store. Other features include game alerts, sports ticker, artist and song alerts as well as a stock ticker. The touch-screen interface can be positioned for use in either portrait or landscape modes. Do-It-Yourself vehicle installation is a breeze with SiriusXM's new PowerConnect technology. With less wires and connections this new setup easily connects to your vehicles FM radio, as well as moves from car to car.

How do I install the Free XM SkyDock App?

Using your iPod touch or iPhone, you can install the XM SkyDock App directly from the App Store. Due to the file size, you must have a WiFi connection. You can also use your computer to install the XM SkyDock App directly from the App Store in iTunes. You will need to synchronize your iPod touch or iPhone with iTunes to complete the installation.

What iPod touch & iPhone models and software version is the XM SkyDock compatible with?

The XM SkyDock is compatible with iPod touch (1st generation), iPod touch (2nd generation), iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone4 and iPhone4S. You may need to remove bumber cover or any other case from your phone. All Models require iPhone OS 3.0 or later.

How does the XM SkyDock receive Sirius/XM programming?

The XM SkyDock has a built-in XM Tuner. It is an XM Satellite Radio controlled by your iPod touch or iPhone using the Free XM SkyDock App available from the App store.

What Sirius/XM content can I receive using the XM SkyDock?

Using XM SkyDock, you can listen to every channel available on XM with an "XM Everything" subscription. You can also add "The Best of Sirius"' to enjoy premium channels from the Sirius lineup. You can also subscribe to other XM programming packages, including Family Friendly.

Do I need to subscribe to Sirius/XM to use the XM SkyDock App?

The App will control the XM SkyDock's FM functions before you activate your XM subscription. If the dock is not activated, you will receive an activation message screen each time you access the FM control functions.

Can I activate XM SkyDock with a Sirius subscription?

The XM SkyDock operates on the XM network and requires an XM subscription. You can add "The Best of Sirius" to an "XM Everything" subscription to enjoy premium channels from the Sirius lineup.

Is there a Sirius version of the XM SkyDock planned?

There is no plan to introduce a Sirius version of XM SkyDock.

Does the XM SkyDock charge my iPod touch or iPhone?

Yes, XM SkyDock will charge the battery of your iPod touch or iPhone every time it's inserted, as long as the dock is receiving power from your vehicle.

How does XM SkyDock play in my vehicle?

XM SkyDock plays through your vehicle's existing radio using the built-in Sirius/XM PowerConnect FM Transmitter, the included Aux In Cable, if your vehicle has Aux In capability, or using a cassette adapter (sold separately). Sirius/XM PowerConnect allows you to play Sirius/XM content through your vehicle's FM radio. If your vehicle has Aux In capability, (many newer vehicles do) it provides optimal performance. If you are not handy, or if you are experiencing difficulty, you can have your XM SkyDock connected by a professional installer.

What is the FM button on the front of the XM SkyDock used for?

The FM button can turn the PowerConnect FM Transmitter ON and OFF, regardless of whether or not the App is running. If the App is running, you can also use the FM button to rotate though the FM channel presets you have previously set up in the App's Settings menu.

Can I set up the PowerConnect FM transmitter to play through multiple FM channels on my vehicle's radio?

Yes, XM SkyDock can be configured to transmit Satellite Radio on any FM channel. You can set up to four FM presets to easily toggle through using the FM button on the front of the XM SkyDock when the App is running.

Can I use my XM SkyDock to listen to music stored on my iPod, through my vehicle's radio?

Yes, you can listen to any music or audio App using the XM SkyDock. However, you will need to use the XM SkyDock App to change FM Channels on the built-in PowerConnect FM Transmitter.

Do I need to connect the Magnetic Mount Antenna to the XM SkyDock to receive the Satellite Radio signal?

Yes, the XM SkyDock will not receive the Satellite Radio signal without connecting the Magnetic Mount Antenna and you will not be able to listen to any Sirius/XM channels. The XM SkyDock Quick Start Guide and User Guide contain detailed information regarding antenna connection and placement.

Can I use my iPod touch or iPhone in multiple XM SkyDocks?

Yes, the XM SkyDock App on your iPod touch or iPhone is not linked to a specific dock. You can use your iPod touch or iPhone in any XM SkyDock as long as that dock has an active XM subscription. All of your personal settings, including your Favorites list, Tagged Songs, Sports and Stock Tickers, will follow your iPod touch or iPhone to any other XM SkyDock. Note: Some channels available on your XM SkyDock may not be available on a different dock if it does not have the same subscription package as the original. The available channels are controlled by the subscription package of the XM SkyDock.

Can I use the Sirius/XM Premium Online App in my XM SkyDock to receive my Sirius/XM online streaming service?

Yes, the Sirius/XM Premium Online App will work with XM SkyDock. However, you will not be able to control the dock's FM functions. You will need to use an iPhone in an area with 3G or Edge signal coverage to receive the Premium Online service. The recommended approach is to use the XM SkyDock App while in your vehicle to receive the satellite service, and switch to the Premium Online App to receive the streaming service when you are in other locations. Note: An active subscription to the Sirius/XM online streaming service is required.

I have an iPhone. If I receive a phone call while my iPhone is in the XM SkyDock, will the phone audio be heard over my vehicle's radio?

If you leave your iPhone in the XM SkyDock when you answer the call, the phone audio will come from the speakers built into the iPhone. However, if your vehicle has a built-in Bluetooth hands-free system, then your call will be heard through that system and not the iPhone speakers.

Does the XM SkyDock automatically restart after a phone call has ended?

Yes, as long as you don't remove the iPhone to take the call, the XM SkyDock will automatically tune to the last channel you were listening to before you answered the call.

What does the Power button on the front of the XM SkyDock do?

The Power button allows you to turn OFF the XM SkyDock if you decide to leave your iPod touch or iPhone inserted and your cigarette lighter power socket does not turn OFF with the key. Note: To turn the XM SkyDock OFF, simply press and HOLD the Power button for 3 seconds. The blue lights will turn OFF. Turning the dock OFF will not turn off your iPod touch or iPhone. Press and HOLD the Power button again to turn the dock back ON.

My iPod touch or iPhone is in an aftermarket protective case. Can I use it in the XM SkyDock without removing the case?

Possibly. XM SkyDock comes with adjustable grips that are compatible with many aftermarket cases for iPod touch or iPhone. However, some protective cases are too thick and do not enable the iPod touch or iPhone to connect properly in the XM SkyDock. If your case is too thick, you will need to remove it before you dock your iPod touch or iPhone.
